The cross-country and volleyball teams from Greene County High School are in action today. The Rams run at the Panorama cross-country invite at Lake Panorama, while the volleyball players go to Gilbert.

Jeff Lamoureux is the head cross-country coach for the girls and boys. After running on Aug. 23, 27, and 30, the Rams were off last week, but not by design. The Greene County Ram Invitational scheduled for Sept. 6 at Spring Lake State Park northwest of Grand Junction was too wet to run on after multiple inches of rain in the days leading up to the meet. The Rams should be well rested.

The volleyball Rams play two teams named Tigers tonight. Greene County meets Gilbert in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference match, and plays the Carroll Tigers in non-conference action. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams are 3-10 in matches, and 0-1 in conference play.

It’s back on the road tomorrow night for the Greene County football team. Coach Mitch Moore’s Rams are ranked 10th in Class 2A and will put their 3-0 record on the line at 1-2 Gilbert on Friday. Coverage on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com begins at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
