The Greene County volleyball team is at home tonight vs. North Polk (Alleman) in the middle school gym in Jefferson in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams are 3-12 and NP is 9-11. The Rams are 0-2 in conference play and will be trying to get in the conference win column for the first time this season. The varsity match is scheduled to begin around 6:30 p.m.

Greene County’s football team is 4-0 and holds down the number seven position in the Iowa High School Athletic Association’s RPI (Ratings Percentage Index). The RPI is used to determine playoff qualifiers for teams that do not win their district title. There are seven unbeaten teams in 2A and the Rams have the lowest RPI of the seven at .6420. Of the 54 teams in the class, nine are 3-1, 16 are 2-2, 14 have one win, and eight are 0-4.

The Rams are at home on Friday, Sept. 21 vs. the 0-4 Shenandoah Mustangs on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Game time is 7 p.m. with coverage at 6 p.m.
