StuartFall is in the air and that means the Stuart Public Library is preparing for their annual auction. This year’s live auction is scheduled for Thursday, October 18th at 6:30pm.

Some of the items up for grabs this year include an autographed flag by Chicago Bears Running Back Jordan Howard, a hotel and casino package at Wild Rose Casino in Jefferson, tickets to the 2019 Drake Relays, and a jacket that was featured in “The Bridges of Madison County.” There’s a variety of other types of items, highlighted by baked goods and new this year, Stuart memorabilia.

Library Director Lisa Sherman says you don’t have to be physically present at the auction to go home with an item. “Now, if you have something that you think you want to bid on, I’m sure you do, contact the library. We have proxies who will bid for you. You just let us know how high you want to go. It worked great last year.”

Chad Daugherty will once again serve as the auctioneer. Last year’s fundraiser brought in nearly $7,500 and included over 150 items. The silent auction kicks off before the live auction, with bidding opening on Monday, October 15th and will last until the 18th during normal library hours. All proceeds benefit the Stuart Library Foundation to help purchase books and other supplies for the library.
