severe thunderstormSevere weather in the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area has extended late into September as a round of storms hit Guthrie, Adair, and Dallas counties Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 3pm, the National Weather Service reported a severe thunderstorm twelve miles west of Stuart, moving to the east at 35mph. The storm carried wind gusts up to 60 mph and penny-sized hail. Additional rain showers are possible throughout the evening hours tonight. Seven Raccoon Valley Radio staff members and Weather Eye meteorologists were on hand to provide coverage of the storm.
