The Perry cross country teams competed in their first meet in more than three weeks last night at the annual Adel Invite held at the Hillside Country Club. The Perry girls placed 4th while the boys were 7th out of ten teams. Freshman Jaylene Karolus led the way for the second straight meet placing 8th in a time of 22:44. Soccer star Kailey Crawford was 20th in 25:15 while basketball standout Molly Lutmer was 26th in 26:45. Kennedy Tunink was 33rd and Cris Gomez 36th.
The boys placed 7th with 180 points. In cross country, the fewer points the better. Carlisle won with 26. Mohamed Abdelnabi placed 25th in 20:14 while Eduardo Sanchez was 31st in 20:46 and Mario Cruz 33rd in 20:50. Johnathan Castro was 39th and Hayden McFarland 52nd.
Perry travels to Guthrie Center Thursday weather permitting.
