Two Guthrie County school districts will square off on the hardwood tonight in Stuart. The Panorama Panthers varsity volleyball team pays a visit to West Central Valley High School for a best of five games West Central Activites Conference match. Both sides are coming off victories in their latest league contests. Panorama pushed their conference mark to 5-0 with a straight sets victory over Pleasantville on September 11 (25-21, 25-11, 25-19). West Central Valley tallied their first conference win of the fall last Tuesday, earning a road victory over Interstate 35 in straight sets (25-4, 25-20, 25-21).

West Central Valley head volleyball coach John Jones joined the Wahl McAtee Tire and Service Center Guthrie County PM Sports Page last night to promote his week of matches. He said Wildcats and Panthers held a joint practice late last week. “Friday, we pretty much practiced against (Panorama) because they are a conference foe, county foe, and we know those girls,” Jones said, “Our kids play them in basketball, softball, run track and field against them as well as volleyball. We know them a little bit.”

Panorama topped West Central Valley in last year’s conference meet in Panora, winning in straight sets (25-23, 25-22, 25-9). The varsity teams take the floor around 7 p.m. tonight from West Central Valley High School in Stuart.
