A jury has found 29-year-old Eric Chandler Parmenter guilty of two felony charges of 3rd degree sexual abuse.

According to court documents, the trial began Wednesday in Dallas County District Court, following the dismissal of two additional counts of 3rd degree sexual abuse. By Thursday the jury returned a guilty verdict. Following the ruling, Parmenter was taken into custody by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, where he will be held without bond until his sentencing hearing on November 16th. Class C felonies carry a maximum prison sentence of 10 years each, as well as up to $10,000 in fines.

Parmenter, who lives in Ankeny but was originally from Perry, was arrested in March following a year-long investigation by the Perry Police Department. The charges stemmed from incidents that occurred between 2008 and 2010, though the counts related to the 2008 occasions were the ones dismissed before the trial at the request of the Dallas County Attorney’s Office. They involved non-consensual sex acts with a female under the age of 18.
