An early version of the Dallas County Human Services Campus landscaping plan
An early version of the Dallas County Human Services Campus landscaping plan

For several months, the Dallas County Board of Supervisors have been discussing what they wanted to do with the landscaping at the Human Services Campus north of Adel. At a recent meeting, they accepted a bid for the plan, and work will begin this week.

The project involves removing several existing trees and shrubs, and then planting new ones that will be more aesthetically pleasing and in some cases functional. The County sent out request for proposals, and two companies responded. Both were companies who have done work for the County in the past, but the Supervisors accepted the low bid of $28,521.40 from New Age Landscaping and Construction from Earlham. Per the contract approved by the Board, the trees and shrubs to be planted will also come with a one-year warranty.

New Age was the contractor in charge of the remodel of the Human Services Campus, so the Board felt confident that they will do more good work at the site.
