acgcComing off a runner-up finish at their home tournament on Saturday, the ACGC volleyball team will look for another conference first, as they head to Urbandale tonight to tangle with the Des Moines Christian Lions.

The Lions have swept the Chargers each of the last two years and are poised to claim another West Central Activities Conference title after starting the season at 14-3. The match is loaded, statistically speaking, as it will feature six of the top ten in total kills in the conference. Charger freshman Chloe Largent leads the conference in total kills with 189 and kills per set with 3.86. ACGC senior Jadeyn Carrick is fourth in the conference in total kills with 99, while junior Olivia Laabs is tied for tenth with 82.

Junior Megan Riddle leads the lions in total kills with 105, good enough for third best in the conference. Riddle is also sixth in aces per set with .68 per set. Sophomore Alyson Dexter and senior McCall Baker are sixth and ninth in the conference respectively in total kills with 91 and 85. The Lions have lost just once in the last nine games, while the Chargers are coming off a loss in their home tournament championship to Underwood.

Both teams look to be at the top of the conference, so this match is crucial for the standings. First serve is set for 6:30pm from the DMC High School gymnasium in Urbandale.
