acgcThe ACGC volleyball team remains undefeated against Madrid all-time after sweeping the Tigers 25-12, 25-14, and 25-12 Tuesday night.

This is the third straight sweep for the Chargers, who dominated from the service line with sixteen total aces. Every Charger server recorded at least one ace, while sophomore Kylie Young and freshman Chloe Largent each had five to lead the gold and black. Four Chargers also recorded at least five kills, led by Largent with ten. Senior Savana Fuller also put on a performance to remember, registering eight kills and six blocks.

Head Coach Trevor Irwin felt the team needed a win like this after getting dispatched at Des Moines Christian last week. “We learned a lot from that DMC game. Even tonight, we just got to push the ball as fast as we can. We really got to move it. When it’s going to get down to those District times, we’ve got to play at that high level all the time and always look to get better, even in games that we win.”

The Chargers improve to 14-6 on the season, and have the rest of the week off before two crucial conference matchups next week against I-35 and Panorama.
