DemocraticLogo (1)A reminder that on Tuesday the Greene County Democratic Party will hold a special nominating convention to get candidates on the ballot for the upcoming November general election.

Party Chair Chris Henning says the convention will be at the Milwaukee Depot at 7pm, however, not everyone that attends will be eligible to vote.

“Our convention in March, it will be the same delegates and alternates from that time. Anybody else who comes is welcomed to hear the candidates and so forth, but they won’t be seated as a delegate to vote.”

She points out that they are looking for candidates to run for the Greene County Supervisor Districts 2 and 3 seats. Potential candidates must live in those districts and be a registered Democrat to be involved in the nominating convention. Henning adds that once someone is nominated, their name will go directly onto the ballot in November.

“They’ll have the backing of the Greene County Democrats. And they will be on the ballot as the Democrat running.”

Raccoon Valley Radio reached out to the Republican and Libertarian parties and neither have plans to hold a separate nominating convention at this time. To find out what townships are in Districts 2 and 3, click the link below.
