Perry Head Coach Matt Hardy knows Perry football. The long time assistant and co-head coach from last season has taken over the full coaching duties this fall as his Bluejays inch closer to the season opener next Friday against Greene County. Hardy explains that the past couple of years have prepared him to be the leader of the Perry football program.
“As far as game operations on Friday nights go, not much will change. We have a system and that system has worked pretty well. There will be a little more responsibility Saturday through Thursday and game week duties for me which I will enjoy. Coach Coy and I did a pretty decent job last year in dividing up the duties and Coach Coy was really good with handling the different media outlets and dividing and conquering in some of those areas. I’m looking forward to it.”
Perry will have their annual blue/white scrimmage this Friday night starting with a cookout at 5:00 at the renovated Dewey Field.
