Perry Fills Two Key Varsity Head Coaching Vacancies Prior To Start of School

Perry High School has announced that they have filled both varsity head coaching positions that were open as recent as last week. Pending school board approval Monday night, Skylar Wolf has accepted the varsity girls basketball job while Austin Daniels will take over the Perry baseball program.
Wolf served as an assistant to Chris Morrow last season in his first year in Perry. Morrow resigned last week and Wolf immediately was excited for the opportunity.
“Skylar was a big help to me last season,” added a grateful Morrow. “He really did a lot with the girls this summer and spent some time trying to working with a few girls on individual skill work and improvement.”
Wolf will be entering his second year at Perry and the 2016 UNI graduate will be filling his first head coaching position at a young age.
Meanwhile, it was no surprise that Daniels was offered the position for baseball. Daniels has seen his workload increase every year while serving as an assistant to long time skipper Mike Long. Daniels has been an assistant coach to Long the past three seasons and showed active interest in the Perry Little League by attending the draft and also holding an end of summer baseball camp for youth.
Both coaches will have the challenge of recruiting athletes as numbers are visibly scary for both girls basketball and baseball.
