Dewey Field Renovation

This Friday, the Perry Booster Club is hosting their Fall of 2018 Kick-Off event at the high school, and the community is invited to attend.

The festivities will begin at 4:30 p.m. in the gymnasium, where the volleyball team will have their annual “Blue-White” scrimmage. Things will then move to the football field, where most people will be getting their first look at the Dewey Field renovations. There will also be a grill-out with food provided by Hy-Vee, which is also hosting a round-up fundraiser throughout this week with proceeds going towards the Booster Club. Additionally, the Booster Club will be there selling Blue Jay apparel, and encouraging attendees to support their yearly membership drive.

At 5:30, the school will introduce the coaches and participants for fall activities. Clubs represented will be cross country, swimming, volleyball, cheer squad, and marching band. The event will conclude with the “Sports Drink” scrimmage for the football team. To watch the game, attendees are asked for a donation of a sports drink. Booster Club President Danene Stewart is excited for the event, and is hopeful a lot of people sign up for membership. “Sometimes I think the Booster Club doesn’t get noticed as much for what they do, because we’re kind of quiet. So one of our goals right now is to be out in front, so people can see us, (and) really know what we’re doing. There’s just a lot of things that we give money to, but it would just be nice to have more money to give to more things.”

Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will also be at the Fall Kickoff this Friday, to broadcast live, play music, and provide public address services.
