Paton Churdan School SignAs the 2017-18 school year came to a close, one position that became open at Paton-Churdan was the athletic director position.

Superintendent Kreg Lensch says they’ve filled that void with one of their own in bringing back Chris Stimson. Lensch points out that Stimson is a long-time teacher and coach with P-C and has previously served as the district’s AD, but when the position became a shared position, he resigned and Chris Peterson took over. Peterson then resigned to become the new High School Principal at AR-WE-VA and Lensch adds that they’ve made the AD position a full time position within the school district again. Having prior experience as AD, Lensch believe Stimson is the right choice.

“It’s just a good fit. Chris has been coaching for quite a few years. He’s not going into this thing cold and having to be re-trained on kind of the ins and outs of the duties of the athletic director. So it’s a pretty comfortable fit and I’m confident that he’ll do a pretty good job.”

Stimson will remain as the head boys and girls track coach, but resigned as the head boys basketball coach. Lensch says they’ve hired Bud Fagen to be the coach.
