Monday, August 13th

12:30am: An officer responded to 1000 West Lincoln Way for a hit and run accident at the Greene County Medical Center parking lot. Carolyn Reineke advised her 2010 Ford Fusion was struck while legally parked in the hospital parking lot. An officer is investigating.

9:25am: An officer was advised of a possible missing child. The child was found shortly after the officer was informed.

10:01am: Officers checked a residence at 701 South Chestnut Street for a possible Trespassing complaint.

2:30pm: Officers removed a bat from 305 North Wilson Avenue.

3:29pm: As a result of a traffic stop in the 600 block of South Cedar Street, Jackie Luann McAndrews of Sheldon was issued a citation for Excessive Speed.

5:24pm: While on routine patrol, an officer located an unregistered dirt bike illegally operating on the roadway in the 400 block of East McKinley Street. The officer attempted to stop the vehicle for the violation, but the driver of the dirt bike took off at a high rate of speed, attempting to elude the officer. A second Jefferson Police Officer also attempted to stop the vehicle. A short pursuit began on the east side of Jefferson, ranging from East McKinley Street, through the city skate park, on the Raccoon Valley Bike Trail down to East Garfield Street. The pursuit continued until the bike reached South Mulberry Street, where it began traveling southbound. The drive chain on the dirt bike broke in the 600 block of South Mulberry Street, causing the vehicle to stop. The

driver of the vehicle was a 17 year old male. The male dismounted the dirt bike and he was arrested without incident.

The male was charged with the following:

Eluding – Serious Misdemeanor

Interference With Official Acts – Simple Misdemeanor

Reckless Driving – Non-Scheduled Violation

Operating Non-Registered Vehicle – Scheduled Violation

No Valid Driver’s License – Scheduled Violation

9:04pm: An officer was informed of a man riding a bike down the middle of Highway 30 by K Avenue.

10:55pm: Jeremy Tasler requested a welfare check on a friend.
