An annual event is happening next week to welcome back all the teachers in the Greene County School District.

Prior to the start of the 2018-19 school year is a Welcome Back event, jointly hosted by the Friends of the Jefferson Public Library and the library staff. The Friends of the Library will be serving a free breakfast to the teachers in the morning, followed by an all staff assembly in the high school auditorium with remarks from Superintendent Tim Christensen. A special guest speaker will then address the crowd. Christensen says the speaker is going to be Linc Kroeger with Pillar Technology, which will be establishing an office sometime next year in the downtown square in Jefferson.

“Very excited about having Linc talk to our staff about collaboration, and the learning that goes on, and what it takes for what our students need moving forward in, whether it be computers or just in getting a career. So I’m excited about that, and also having him talk about Pillar Technology and Pillar Academy.”

Christensen will also introduce all of the new faculty and staff hired for the year. The 2018-19 school year for Greene County begins on Thursday, August 23rd.
