iowa-state-patrolA Scranton man was killed from a two vehicle collision Thursday night near Jefferson.

According to an Iowa State Patrol report, just before 7:30pm, 46-year-old Donald Daniel of Scranton was traveling west on County Road E-53 when his 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle entered the intersection with County Road P-14 at the same time and collided with a 2012 GMC Terrain SUV that was heading north on P-14 and driven by 28-year-old Emily Perrien of Coon Rapids. Both vehicles came to a rest in the roadway. Both drivers were taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services. However, Daniel died of his injuries and Perrien complained of minor injuries and she was treated and released.

The cause of the wreck remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol. The Greene County Sheriff’s office, the Jefferson Police and Fire departments, the Iowa Department of Transportation Enforcement Department, and Greene County EMS assisted at the scene.
