The five regular-season road trips on the Adel-Desoto-Minburn’s varsity football schedule will send the Tigers all over the Hawkeye State this fall. ADM gets their first taste of a road football game tonight when they travel to Gilbert for a preseason scrimmage against the Tigers. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network spoke with ADM first-year head coach Garrison Carter after practice Wednesday evening. He says with a road-heavy schedule this fall, he wants to use tonight to teach the student athletes the travel experience. “I want to pack the trailer on Thursday night, I want to go through pregame warm-ups, I want them to understand how to carry ourselves as a varsity team when the freshman games going on,” Carter said, “Ninety-nine percent of coaching football has nothing to do with what happens once the clock hits zero and you kick off on Friday night. It’s all that stuff leading up to it that I make sure we do right.”

ADM’s 2018 road trips include nondistrict opponents Bondurant-Farrar and Grinnell. The Tigers district road games involve stops in Creston, Glenwood, and Council Bluffs (Lewis Central). Next Friday the Raccoon Valley Radio Network will bring you ADM’s season-opening football game at Bondurant-Farrar. Kickoff takes place at 7:30 p.m. Our pregame coverage starts with Football Friday Night at 6:30 p.m. on True Country K 107.9, raccoonvalleyradio.com, and the KKRF mobile app.
