Trent Miner 2018

The 13th annual Trent Miner Memorial Parent/Child Golf Tournament was held Saturday at the Perry Golf and Country Club, and it was once again very well-attended.

There were two different groups taking part in the event, the first for younger kids starting at 9 a.m., and the second for older participants, which started at 1 p.m. There were a dozen pairings for the morning tournament, which was a 9-hole alternate shot contest. The afternoon competition was much bigger, boasting around 70 participants for a 9-hole best ball tournament. Organizers emphasized that the tournament isn’t about the competition, it’s about kids having fun playing a game with the adults in their lives.

In addition to the golf, there was also a raffle and silent auction, with all the items donated from friends and family of the Miners, as well as from area businesses. Joelle Miner, who is Trent’s mother and an organizer for the event, said it’s always overwhelming to see all the support coming from the community in remembrance of her son. All proceeds from the event go to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Caringbridge, and the Trent Miner Memorial Scholarship. See below for results from the event.
