Suhr (Right) after being crowned 2018 Adair County Fair Queen.

Adair County has a new Fair Queen. Madison Suhr of Adair was crowned the 2018 Adair County Fair Queen Wednesday evening.

Suhr is 16-years-old and the daughter of Scott and Natalie Suhr. The incoming senior at Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center High School has been involved in several activities, including: FFA, 4H, athletics, dance, the high school science fair, and as a crew member at Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo.

Suhr tells Raccoon Valley Radio what it means to have been crowned the queen. “It’s definitely awesome. I wasn’t expecting it. I’m excited to see what this year has in store. I guess I’m a little nervous. Maggie (Maas) was a great queen and I just hope that I can follow in her footsteps I guess.”

She plans to attend Northwest Missouri State University in the fall of 2019, where she intends to double major in both Animal Science and Biology. Julia Eshelman of Greenfield received 1st Runner Up and Miss Congeniality. Ellan Clay and Haylee Miller also participated in this year’s competition.

Several other awards were given out that night, including: Little Mister and Little Miss Adair County, Adair County Soil and Water Conservation District Awards, 4-H Hall of Fame inductees, and 4-H seniors.
