Grand JunctionThe City of Grand Junction is preparing for their town’s celebration coming up next weekend.

Summerfest will be held on July 27th and 28th. The festivities begin with a free outdoor movie on Friday, July 27th at the library at 8:30pm. Then on Saturday is a full slate of activities. In the morning will be the start of the vendor fair at the community center, followed by the parade at 11am on Main Street. At 1pm a meal will be served by the Greene County Pork Producers and the 4-H Junction Food Producers at the city softball fields. Also in the afternoon will be kickball and free throw shooting contests, plus a beer garden and musical entertainment provided by a DJ.

The evening activities consist of free swimming at the city pool and the popular 5K Glow-Run starting at the community center at 8:45pm. Anyone can still enter to participate in the 5K, but those individuals aren’t guaranteed a free t-shirt. Entry fee is $20. Vendors have until tomorrow’s deadline to submit applications to be a part of the vendor fair. Applications can be submitted to City Hall.

All proceeds from Summerfest will go towards GJ 150, which is the City’s sesquicentennial celebration in July of 2019. For more information about Summerfest, click the link below.
