No one was injured after the Perry Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire on Willis Avenue Monday evening.

Firefighters were called to the house located at 425 Willis Avenue at 5 p.m. Fire Chief Chris Hinds told Raccoon Valley Radio the fire was caused by an electrical overload in the wall of an upstairs bedroom. Emergency crews were able to control the fire quickly and confined it to the room. However, Hinds says there was extensive smoke damage and some water damage to the rest of the residence. All occupants of the house, including their pets, were able to escape the house unharmed.

Fire crews extinguished the last of the remnants of the fire by 9:20 p.m. The Perry Police Department also responded to the incident.
