Greene County Community CenterThere are a few more classes and programs coming up this month with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department.

A new class called “Out of this World” will be held on Thursday, July 26th at the Greene County Community Center. Kids ages three to six-years-old will do space-themed crafts and games from 10 to 11:30am. Cost to participate is $10.

JPRD is once again teaming up with the Jefferson Elks Club to host the free Safety Camp program. It will be held from 9 to 11am at the community center from July 30th through August 2nd. JPRD Director Vicky Lautner says the program is for kids who turn five by September 15th. They will learn about areas of safety like fire, bus, bicycle safety, and several others. “Sydney Schiltz has designed the class as an orientation to safety concerns that will be important for all children to know before they attend school. And the campers will graduate on that last day and there’s a limit of 20 participants.”

Finally, the Sports Intro Camp will be from July 30th through August 2nd from 9 to 10am at Kelso Park. It is for youth ages four to six-years-old to learn about the basics of a variety of sports to encourage physical activity. Samantha Hardaway and Regan Lamoureux will lead the program. Cost to participate is $15.

Call 386-3412 or stop by the community center to sign up for any of the programs.
