Menlo library bldgThe Menlo Public Library recently wrapped up its summer reading program.

Director Julie O’Brien tells Raccoon Valley Radio the program topics included: health, farming, bee-keeping, and trains. O’Brien mentions why they decided to use the “Libraries Rock” theme this year. “It makes it kind of nice because the whole State is going through it as well. A lot of the programs, the Science Center (of Iowa) and the (Blank Park) Zoo, are geared around it. So it makes it kind of nice for us as well.”

O’Brien mentions they will use the same theme again for their program next year. The library is currently preparing for their Vendor Fair fundraiser on Saturday, August 4th to support the library.
