The Iowa West Swim Conference held its annual conference meet July 14 in Carroll. Jefferson head coach Kenna Marquardt reports her swimmers were fifth overall with 166 points. The boys were fourth with 104 and the girls were sixth with 62 points. Carroll won the overall title with 276 combined points with Guthrie County Swim Club second with 272, and Perry third at 214. Denison scored 205, followed by Jefferson, Coon Rapids 140, Sac City 101, Lake City 53, Glidden 48, and Mast Summer 18 with 29 points.

Jefferson swimmers won six events and all were in individual events. Lauren Carlson was the lone girl from the Jefferson team to place first. She won the 50 yard breaststroke for 15-18 girls.

On the boys’ side, winners were Lane Carstens in both the 50 freestyle and 50 butterfly for 11-12 boys; Zack Stalder, 25 backstroke for 9-10 boys; Preston Kennedy, 100 Individual Medley for 11-12 boys; Gavin Scheuermann, 50 breaststroke for 11-12 boys.

The IWSC season has been concluded.
