An outgoing senior on the West Central Valley softball team caught the eye of the West Central Activities Conference coaches this summer. The league released their 2018 All-Conference selections after the conclusion of Friday’s Iowa State Softball tournament, and Taylor Beane represented West Central Valley on the second team squad. Beane recorded a team-best 38 hits in 93 at-bats. She also tops the team with 11 doubles, seven home runs and 29 runs batted in. Beane split time between three positions this summer including pitcher, shortstop, and centerfield. Outgoing senior Kennedy Lose and incoming senior Abby Speichinger are West Central Valley’s honorable mention selections. The West Central Valley softball team finished the season with a 5-24 overall record, a one win improvement from last summer.
