A top 15 clash will decide the state softball fate of the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers this evening. The Tigers, Class 4A No.2 ranked squad, hosts the No. 14 Norwalk Warriors this evening in the Class 4A Region 3 championship game. ADM advanced to the title game by defeating the Carroll Tigers, 5-0, Saturday in Adel; Norwalk clinched a spot in the championship game by besting the Boone Toreadors, 5-1. These two teams were originally scheduled to meet during the regular season but had their nonconference contest washed out on June 21. ADM head softball coach Rick Dillinger spoke with Raccoon Valley Radio after Saturday’s win and said the team believes they can get to an even higher level. “Right now our kids are playing well, and the nice thing about them is they feel they can play better,” Dillinger said, “If they step up and get after it, they’ll be fine (against Norwalk). I’ve told them, if we ever have the one night where we are all hitting on the same cylinders, it will be something to see.”

ADM is looking for their first state softball appearance since back to back trips to Fort Dodge in 2007 & 2008. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network will provide live play by play coverage of the Class 4A Region 3 championship game between ADM and Norwalk on True Country K 107.9. Pregame coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. and the first pitch takes place around 7 p.m.
