acgcYesterday we took a look at season comparisons between the first two years of ACGC Charger softball. Today we look at the baseball team’s hitting comparisons.

Despite getting off to a slow start, the Charger baseball team had a nearly identical season in several statistical categories. Both seasons featured 24 games, with just one more win and five more hits total in the first year compared to this last season. The Chargers also recorded the same number of doubles (19) and just one fewer triple this season as compared to year one.

The main differences come in batting average and runs scored. The Chargers fell from a .253 batting average in 2016-2017 to a .221 in 2017-2018. Their slugging and on-base percentages also dropped, putting up a .296 and .357 respectively in the 2016-2017 season and a .256 and .339 in 2017-2018. However, the gold and black did score seven more runs and notched 19 more RBIs. They also drew 15 more walks this season.

Tomorrow we’ll look at pitching comparisons, starting with the softball team.
