acgcOn Thursday the ACGC Chargers secured their first win of the season over East Union in Guthrie Center. Unfortunately for ACGC, that winning spirit was short lived. The Chargers were blanked last night against the West Central Activities Conference leading Van Meter Bulldogs, 11-0.

The Bulldogs, who improve to 14-3 (9-1) on the season, only needed five innings to reach the ten run threshold. Seniors JJ Durflinger and Mitch Pomeroy each tallied two hits and a run for Van Meter. Pomeroy also needed just 45 pitches in his complete game effort, striking out two and allowing just two hits.

Those two hits came off the bats of sophomore Bryce Littler and junior Ben Kingery. Littler also started the night on the mound. Of the ten runs allowed, only one was earned for Littler. He struck out three and walked just one Bulldog batter. ACGC falls to 1-12 (0-10) on the season. They will head to Stuart on Monday to tangle with the West Central Valley Wildcats.
