For the second time in as many meetings this season, the Gilbert Tigers were 6-0 Heart of Iowa Activities Conference baseball winners over Greene County. Gilbert won on their home diamond Friday night. Coach John Hupp’s Rams managed five hits, but no runs.

Losing pitcher Austin Delp allowed just two earned runs on nine hits  and two walks with two strikeouts. He went all six innings. Jared Jensen went all seven innings for Gilbert to get the win. Jensen allowed five hits and two walks while striking out two.

Bryce Hoyle singled and doubled for Greene County. Wade Adcock, Ben Wilkins, and Delp, each singled once.

The Greene County offense scored 21 runs in the first two games of this week, both victories. The last two games have been been losses with a total of two runs scored. Greene County plays in Des Moines today at the Saydel tournament. They open at 12:15 p.m. with Van Meter, then play either Saydel over Clarke (Osceola). Greene County is 5-6 overall and 3-4 in the HOIAC.
