Discover Space

Tonight, the public is invited to an event combining the Perry Public Library’s “Discover Space” Summer Reading Program, and a popular Dallas County Conservation area.

The library is hosting a free stargazing event at the Voas Nature Center near Minburn, which will be led by Naturalist Chris Atkins. Attendees will learn about constellations, engage in some naked-eye astronomy, and help themselves to s’mores. You will need to bring your own seating, whether it be a lawn chair or blanket. The event will begin tonight at 9 p.m. at Voas, though there will be a caravan meeting at the library at 8:30. There is no registration required, and the program is appropriate for all ages.

In the event of rain or cloudy weather, the event will be postponed. For more information, contact Library Director Mary Murphy at 515-465-3569.
