An outstanding sixth inning at the plate helped the Panorama Panthers softball team overcome an early deficit against the AC/GC Chargers. As heard live on True Country K 107.9, raccoonvalleyradio.com, and the KKRF mobile app, the Panthers traveled to Guthrie Center for a West Central Activities Conference matchup. A 13 run top of the sixth inning erased an early five-run deficit for a 17-7 victory. AC/GC plated five runs in the bottom of the first inning and held a 5-4 lead entering the top of the sixth inning. Juniors Kennedy Anderson and Grace Richey and freshman Claire Woodworth each drove in three batters at the plate. Junior Lydia Knapp and freshman Shey Storesund each scored three runs in the victory as well. AC/GC junior Sierra O’Brien recorded two singles and scored a run in the setback. The win improves Panorama to 4-5 overall while the loss drops AC/GC to 5-6. The Panthers resume their season Thursday on the road against the Woodward-Granger Hawks in a varsity doubleheader. The Chargers resume their season Thursday in Guthrie Center against the Coon Rapids-Bayard Crusaders.
