Panorama’s new head football coach Michael Kauzlarich says the number one challenge for him this summer is finding time to rest among the multiple coaching duties he’s filling this summer. Kauzlarich is splitting his time this summer between offseason lifting and workouts with the Panthers varsity football team while also assuming the duties as the head baseball coach of the Moravia Mohawks. Kauzlarich was a guest on Monday’s Guthrie County PM Sports Page program and said he’s been coaching the Moravia baseball team for several seasons. “This is my eighth season,” Kauzlarich said, “(I felt it was) late notice, I didn’t want to leave them hanging. We have a really solid team down here, guys that I’ve been around since they were 12 years old getting ready to be seniors this year and graduate. It was definitely something I felt like, since I was doing it, I wanted to do it right and not leave them.”

Kauzlarich explains he’s spending Tuesday through Friday mornings at 7 a.m. in Panora for the Panthers’ offseason weight program and football skills and drills with the team on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. After losing their first four contests of the season, the Moravia baseball team has won nine straight games. The Mohawks resume their season on the road against Mormon Trail tonight.
