Guthrie Co ConservationEven though this is prime camping season in Guthrie County, Guthrie County Conservation (GCC) is helping new hunters prepare for the fall seasons. GCC, along with Panorama FFA, will be hosting a Hunter Safety Course on July 10th and 11th in the District Board Room at Panorama High School in Panora. The course will be held on Tuesday from 9am-4pm and Wednesday from 8am-1pm.

Participants should bring a sack lunch for Tuesday. Those born after January 1, 1972 must complete the course and must be at least 12 years old before obtaining a hunting license or certificate. Class size is limited and the registration window will be from June 21-July 8. Attendance at both days is required. Registration instructions can be found below:

  • Scroll down and click “Hunter Education – Register Now”
  • Scroll down to “Iowa Hunter Education Classroom Course” and click on “View upcoming events”
  • Find and click on the July 10 and 11 event located at Panorama Community Schools and follow the instructions to complete registration.
