Sven Peterson thrown by a bull at the 2018 Dallas County Rodeo

The annual Dallas County Rodeo kicked off Friday night with a bang, and the festivities continue once again tonight.

The rodeo is held at the fairgrounds in Adel, and tonight’s festivities will begin with the crowning of the Dallas County Fair Queen at 7 p.m. Following that will be the rodeo events, including bronco riding, calf-roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, and the main event, bull riding. In addition to the events, there will also be food and beer vendors, music, and apparel for sale. Tonight’s festivities continue what was started last night, which included Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson riding a bull to raise money for the “Let’s Connect” project. While Peterson made it less than one second on top of “Mudslinger,” he still managed to raise nearly $3,000 in the fundraiser.

Admission to the Dallas County Rodeo is $10 per person and tickets can be purchased at the gate.
