GCESchools across Guthrie County are entering the final days of classes. However, learning doesn’t necessarily stop in the summer, especially for Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. The Extension Office is currently accepting registration information for summer youth programs.

The Extension Office is offering four different programs throughout the month of June, with the first being “Insects, Bugs, Oh My!” The program for kindergarten-3rd graders is on Friday, June 1st at Springbrook State Park from 10am-2pm. Also during that same time at Springbrook, 4th-12th graders can participate in the “Engineering in Nature” program. The program for the younger children is $5 and the one for the older kids is $10.

The Panora Public Library will also be offering a Makerspace program the last three Thursdays in June from 2-3pm. There is no cost for the one-hour program, and no registration is required.
