North Polk (Alleman) improve to 9-1 on the season with a 3-2 boys’ high school soccer victory over Greene County on Thursday in Grand Junction. The match dropped Coach Carl Behne’s Rams to 9-8 to end the regular season. The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio he felt his team played well, but left some opportunities on the field.

Leo Marques and Junior Gutierrez had the Greene County goals. Marques is second in all of Iowa high school soccer goals scored with 32, while Gutierrez registered his fifteenth goal of the season. Kyle Peters had seven saves in goal.

The Rams open the Class 1A postseason on Monday, May 21 vs. Unity Christian (Orange City) in Denison at 5 p.m. in a Substate 1 quarterfinal.
