A Perry man was arrested on drug charges early Friday morning after a traffic stop of the vehicle he was riding in.

Just after midnight, Perry Police officers pulled over a vehicle driven by 24-year-old Delaney Moriah Spencer of Perry, with 29-year-old Andy Alejandro Perez also in the car. After a search, officers found methamphetamine in Perez’s possession and arrested both individuals. Perez was charged with three counts, including: possession of meth with intent to deliver, a class C felony; possession of meth, 3rd or subsequent offense, a class D felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Spencer was charged with misdemeanors for driving while barred, driving while suspended, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Perez was subsequently transported to the Dallas County Jail, where he is currently being held on $50,000 bond. He had his initial appearance in court Friday morning, and will have a preliminary hearing on May 21st. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it’s made official.
