New Perry City Council

The Perry City Council will convene Monday evening in regular session.

The meeting will begin with a proclamation of the 50th anniversary of the Home Rule Amendment, allowing cities the flexibility to make important decisions at the local level. Following that, there will be two public hearings, the first regarding a fiscal year 2018 budget amendment, and the second to discuss an alleyway vacation for Wiese Industries. The Council will then consider resolutions to approve the amendment and vacation.

Also in old business, the Council will consider three different reappointment requests to City Boards, as well as three pay requests and two change orders for current City projects, and a resolution approving the final acceptance and certificate of completion for the McCreary Building roof maintenance project. In new business, the Council will discuss quotes for phase two of the McCreary roof project, and a resolution for establishing rates and fees for commercial cardboard collection.

Finally, the Perry Public Safety Committee will present proposed changes to the City’s fireworks ordinance, which includes lowering fines and expanding the time to allow usage. The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. Monday in the Clarion Room at Perry City Hall.
