New Perry City Council

The Perry City Council convened Monday evening in regular session.

The Council started the meeting with a public hearing to discuss the Park Street paving and widening project. Following the hearing they awarded the project to Harland Concrete of Perry for $67,840. Also in old business, the Council approved a change order for $13,590, and a pay request for $113,421.26 for the Willis Avenue bridge construction. Other items approved in old business included: a pay request for work completed by No Lawn Left Behind on the soccer complex; a lease agreement between the City and the owners of El Tren to continue operations in Caboose Park; establishing a Maintenance Supervisor position for the CIty; establishing new prices and fees for Violet Hill Cemetery; a SAFER grant application by the Fire Department; and setting a public hearing on May 21st to discuss budget amendments for the fiscal year 2018.

The Council also set a public hearing for the same day relating to an alleyway vacation for Wiese Industries. Additionally, they approved a development agreement between the City and Maxwell Hospitality, and a resolution authorizing grant applications for budgeted capital expenditures.
