The first season of varsity soccer at Panorama Community Schools saw the Panther girls soccer team win 11 of their 15 regular season matches this spring. As the Class 1A postseason tournament looms at the end of the month, Panorama’s two freshman twin sisters are among the top goal scorers in Iowa. Audrey and Paige Cmelik have registered 20 points each for the Panorama soccer team. Audrey Cmelik’s 22 goals scored ranks fourth overall in Class 1A while Paige Cmelik’s 20 goals contributed puts her seventh. Freshman Ella Waddle is the next highest scorer for Panorama with 13 goals this spring. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union rewarded the Panthers successful rookie season with hosting rights in the opening round of the Class 1A Region 2 bracket against the Kuemper Catholic Knights of Carroll (6-5 overall). First round games of the Class 1A Region 2 tournament start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29.
