The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office has located the body of the young man who drowned in Lake Panorama Thursday evening.

According to an official press release, the body of 22-year-old Kenton Greaves of Brooklyn, New York was recovered at approximately 2:15pm Saturday afternoon. Greaves, a student at Grandview University in Des Moines, was on the lake with friends when he fell into the water. Several local law enforcement agencies assisted in the original search over the last three days. Several other entities assisted in the recovery, including: Search and Rescue Christian Aid Ministries out of Illinois, the Story County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, the Green County Fire Department, Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Lake Panorama Security Land and Water, the Guthrie and Adair County Emergency Management Agency, the Panora Fire Department, and Panora Emergency Medical Services.

The situation is still under investigation at this time. The Main Basin and Marina boat ramp have also been reopened for use. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information, as it becomes official.
