Friday, May 18th

8:14am: Charlie Hill reported a careless Driver on 220th Street, heading east towards Jefferson. The officer did not locate the vehicle.

9:54am: Jennifer Ayres spoke to an officer about receiving unwanted contact form her ex- husband. Her husband had already been contacted by the officer to end the contact, but it continued. The officer learned the contact was still occurring by both parties. The officer again advised both sides to end contact with the other.

10:54am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 100 Block of South Cedar Street.

11:11am: Nancy Bishop spoke with an officer about appliances being removed from her rental property at 300 East Washington Street by the tenant who just moved out. The officer contacted the tenant and the appliances were returned to Bishop.

1:25pm: Des Moines PD requested assistance from a Jefferson officer in looking for a male at an address in Jefferson. The male was not located in Jefferson.

1:50pm: Wendy Jordison advised her vehicle had been broken into at 777 Wild Rose Lane overnight and she was missing her purse. The officer is investigating.

3:47pm: An officer investigated a Property Damage Accident at Washington and Locust Streets. A 1998 Chevrolet Tracker, owned and operated by Dennis Murphy of Grand Junction, was eastbound on East Washington Street. A 2009 Buick Lacrosse, owned and operated by Alberta Hamilton of Jefferson, was southbound on Locust Street and did not yield to Murphy at the intersection of Washington and Locust Streets. The vehicles collided in the intersection. The Murphy vehicle had a reported $1000.00 in damage, while the Hamilton vehicle suffered a reported $2000.00 in damages. Hamilton was cited for, “Fail to Yield to Vehicle on Right.”

4:07pm: Lisa Aldrich reported her son’s cell phone had been stolen while he attended school at 203 West Harrison Street. The office is investigating the reported event.

7:43pm: Keith Knight requested a Welfare Check on a female in the 900 Block of West South Street. The officer made contact with the female, who was fine.

9:06pm: Susan Forkner requested an officer to speak with her juvenile grandson about missing his curfew time to be home. The officer spoke with the youth about the issue.

9:17pm: Jarrod Rumley reported his juvenile son had been pushed up against a wall at 307 East Gallop Road by older kids. The officer spoke to all parties involved and diffused the issue.

Saturday, May 19th

12:25am: An officer located an Open Door at 1000 North Cedar Street.

4:52am: A Traffic Stop at Mahlon and Walnut Streets resulted in Greg Hackler of Jefferson being cited for, “Driving While Suspended.”

6:22am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 1100 Block of McDuffie Drive.

1:23pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of West Washington Street.

2:50pm: Jon Hueser reported a male on a bicycle going through mailboxes on Westwood Drive. The officer and a State Trooper were unable to locate the subject.

4:21pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1100 Block of North Elm Street resulted in Whitney Moshier of Gowrie being cited for, “Operation without Registration.”

7:11pm: Richard Emery reported a subject on a motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed on West State Street. The officer located the subject at his residence and spoke to him about the complaint.

7:16pm: Letitia Sutton reported a friend in Las Vegas was suicidal. The officer provided her with a number to authorities in Las Vegas to reported the issue to them.

Sunday, May 20th

1:17pm: The GCMC ER reported a Cat Bite. The officer made contact with the subject, who advised his own cat bit him when he picked it up by the scruff of his neck. The animal had current Rabies vaccination.

2:22pm: Jarrett Delp turned in a bank card he found near the ATM at 116 West State Street. The officer returned the card to the owner.

3:04pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 1400 Block of Southfield Drive.

3:09pm: Deb Curtis spoke with an officer about her belief she had been drugged when a stranger bought her a drink at a bar in Des Moines on the prior evening. She was advised to report this to Des Moines PD.

5:40pm: Mike Harbaugh spoke with an officer about an issue with a neighbor.

7:19pm: An officer spoke to a female walking along the train tracks at the Cedar Street Crossing. She advised she was hunting mushrooms. The officer advised her it was private property and the railroad would not allow her to walk there.

7:40pm: A caller advised of a subject not cleaning up after hid dog in the 1200 Block of Rushridge. The officer spoke to the animal owner about the issue.

10:24pm: A Traffic Stop in the 1000 Block of South Elm Street resulted in Shane Bellefy of West Des Moines being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
