Jefferson Elks Gives Out $2,500 in Grants

The Jefferson Elks Lodge #2306 recently gave grant funds to local organizations.

A total of $2,500 was given to four groups. The Jefferson Congregate Meals received $800, while $500 was given to all of the third graders in Greene County to purchase dictionaries for their respective school districts.

Two $600 donations were given to the Jefferson Police and Fire departments. The Police Department is using the grant to help their Drug Awareness Officer Caleb Jans with the new DARE program in the school systems. The Fire Department will use the funds to purchase a thermal imaging camera.

Grant funds were made available to the Jefferson Elks through their funds that they gave in support of the Elks National Foundation.
