Des Moines Christian defeated Perry 11-1 in nonconference softball action Monday night in Des Moines. The Lions jumped out early scoring 11 runs in the first three innings. The game was called after five innings due to the mercy rule. DMC outhit Perry 10-5. The Jayettes finished with three errors in the field. Perry senior Alyssa Kruger turned in a busy day of sports. Just hours after qualifying for the state golf tournament, the senior stepped inside the pitching circle for the first time in more than two years. She pitched four innings allowing seven earned runs and four walks to go along with three strikeouts. The Jayettes committed all three errors in the first inning. Kruger led the way at the plate finishing with two hits and RBI. Sidney Vancil added a hit and run scored while Adrianna Eastman and TJ Sheehey finished 1-3.
Perry will return to action Friday night at Norwalk.
