Greenfield Man Charged with Multiple Felonies Following Assault

Adair County SheriffA Greenfield man was recently charged with multiple felonies following an alleged assault.

According to the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, 47-year-old Andre Lamont Sewell was arrested by the Greenfield Police Department and charged with three Class D Felonies following a domestic assault investigation on May 4th.

According to police reports, the alleged assault took place three days prior to the arrest. The complaint states Sewell assaulted a woman with whom he was living with and was romantically involved. He was charged with one Class D Felony each for assault causing serious injury and willful injury, causing bodily injury. Upon further investigation at the residence, police located a .22 caliber revolver firearm under a mattress. As Sewell is a convicted felon on a previous offense, he was charged with another Class D Felony for illegal possession of a firearm.

He also faces three misdemeanor charges including: possession of methamphetamine, first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; and obstruction of emergency communications. Sewell is currently being held at the Adair County Jail on a $10,000 cash or surety bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Thursday, May 17th at 10:30am at the Adair County Courthouse in Greenfield.
