Stuart emergency crews responded to a two-car accident near the Stuart McDonald’s Thursday morning. Around 6:45am the Stuart Fire Department, Police Department, and Emergency Medical Services responded to the accident between McDonald’s and the Kum and Go gas station.

Emergency personnel told Raccoon Valley Radio the driver of each vehicle is being transported to medical centers in Des Moines and their injury status remains unknown at this time. The cause of the accident and damage estimates to the vehicles are also unknown, though both are likely not a total loss. One of the two vehicles, a silver sport utility vehicle, was flipped on its side at the scene.
