Dallas Co Supervisors 3-27

The Dallas County Board of Supervisors convened Tuesday morning in regular session.

Chief among the action items was an update on the new law enforcement center, and the third pay application from the Samuels Group. Jerry Purdy from Design Alliance first discussed the contingency log, which currently shows around $960,000 available for change orders and other unforeseen occurrences. He also mentioned that crews are currently pouring concrete slabs, and there should be some masonry work done this week. The pay application included requests from seven contractors, for a total of $1,054,806.36, which the Board approved.

Other items that were approved included: the health insurance plan renewal as presented; ratification of the Sheriff’s Office union contract; setting public hearings for proposed changes to general assistance and Veterans Affairs ordinances for June 5th; setting a public hearing to discuss a software agreement with Tyler Technologies for May 29th; and an amended joint road maintenance 28E agreement with the City of Adel. Finally, the Board held a workshop to discuss a landscaping plan at the Human Services Campus, but took no action.

The meeting concluded with a closed session to discuss purchase of real estate.
