dallas county conservationDallas County Conservation recently received a grant to help the connection project between two recreational trails.

The local Conservation Board received a $15,000 grant from through the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy and is a 2018 recipient of the Doppelt Family Development Grant Fund. The money will be used to acquire six parcels of land to connect the High Trestle Trail to the Raccoon River Valley Trail. The Dallas County Conservation Board is one of ten recipients of the grant program, and the only one in Iowa to receive funds.

Since 2015, the Doppelt Fund has awarded nearly $500,000 in grants to nonprofits and government agencies to help develop and improve multi-use trails.
